With a €3 million budget funded by the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) and the French Development Agency (AFD), Africa4Climate was implemented by Expertise France (EF) and covers four countries – Gabon, Kenya, Uganda, and Benin. Over the past 5 years (2012-2017), 10 specific interventions were conducted in order to build the technical and human institutional capacities of centralized and decentralized governments and local communities and to implement low-carbon (greenhouse gas emission) development strategies aimed at adapting and dealing with the impacts of climate change.

To this end, the project helped authorities define and implement transversal and sectoral strategies integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation challenges by providing them with technical tools to define inclusive public policies as well as tools to support decision-making and stakeholder participation.
